Menutup minggu ini dan menyambut hari senin, aku ingin ditemani Lou Reed dengan Perfect Day-nya. Terima kasih untuk seminggu yang penuh dengan keceriaan, kesibukan, kejutan-kejutan, kemunculan-kemunculan dan kehangatan.. what a perfect week.. what a perfect day... aku mendekap minggu, hari, jam, menit, detik.. erat, melingkarinya dengan rasa penuh.. Terima kasih untuk hidup dan hari-hari yang sempurna.

Seharian ini moodnya lagi cocok sama musiknya Thelonious Monk. Membuat hari yang penat dan padat dengan deretan pekerjaan jadi terasa lebih ngalir. Biar pelan, tapi yakin beres. Round About Midnight jadi lagu untuk menuju penghujung malam yang tenang di gudang selatan. Selamat tidur. Selamat  mimpi indah.

Nonton film The Good Night , bikin aku jadi inget sama lagu ini dan mencari donlotannya. Aku suka intro orkestranya. Sejak lagu ini muncul, aku langsung suka. Menurutku Blur sebagai band indiepop pada jamannya punya kemampuan musikal yang cukup kuat. Damon Albarn menurutku lebih pantes disebut seniman daripada popstar. Project band 2 demensi pertama di dunia yang digagas olehnya_ Gorillaz dan melibatkan banyak musisi, menurutku brilian banget. Apalagi sikapnya yang menjauhi gaya hidup selebriti pada umumnya dan lebih low profile karena yang penting adalah karyanya. Aku merasa beruntung banget pernah nonton dia dengan projectnya the Honest Jon’s Revue di Lincoln Center, NYC, 12 Juli 2008. Di konser itu aku lihat Albarn bukan sosok yang senang tampil di atas panggung. Selama para musisi Mali dan beberapa musisi dari AS tampil, Albarn memilih duduk di tepi panggung di dekat posisi drum jadi agak tersembunyi gitu. Foto-foto pas konser itu aku upload menyusul. Salah satu video The White Stripes yang aku suka. Sempet merasa ada sesuatu yang beda dengan penyanyinya, keesentrikan yang aneh dan misterius, susah dimengerti. Baru sekarang kemudian di balik penampilannya yang 'creepy' itu, Jack White menyimpan banyak bakat dan energi berkarya yang begitu intens. Mengingatkan aku pada sosok Johnny Deep dari gaya dan intensitas, hanya kematangan yang berbeda, maklum umur mempengaruhi proses. Tapi aku sungguh suka dua orang ini, meski temanku heran. kok bisa aku ngefans sama Jack White.  Pertama aku jatuh cinta dengan karyanya (Conquest adalah lagu pertama yang memikatku) dan membuatku penasaran dengan misteri seniman di belakangnya. Pasti ada sesuatu yang menarik yang membuat dia bisa menciptakan lagu seperti itu. Dan dari referensi dan wawancara2 juga dari It Might Get Loud, semakin membuatku suka dengan misterinya.
